M É T R O N

METRON It is an audiovisual sculpture where we explore the concepts of: limit, border, intersection, energy and the perception of them in space.

Concept

Our aim is to challenge the perception of the concept of limit and boundary, and to invite the viewer to look a little closer at the details, to see how complex the movement between two points can be.

Process

For this project, a large part of the process was concept work. Once we had an idea of what we wanted to achieve, we started playing with materials, shapes, types of light...

On a technical level, the first version was made using PureData to generate the control signals (both for the motors and for the sounds) and Reaper to generate the sound. The motors were controlled by Arduino, which received the control signal from PureData using the OSC protocol. For the lighting, we used MadMapper, which received the same signal as the motors to turn the LEDs on and off.

As for the content, we proposed certain dynamics using the effects that the sculpture allows.
